African Heritage... All Year Round
This month is celebrated as Black History Month in some quarters and African Heritage Month in others. As we sit contemplating the significance of these celebrations, it is our belief that as a people this celebration though official for a month should be reinforced year round.

Who Else Wants A Nicer Butt?
There is nothing I hate more than putting on a pair of skinny jeans and they fit perfectly in the leg but got space in the back; except when swimsuit bottoms sag. That is a sign that your butt is not a round as it could be.
Many people are on the search for the perfect bum, which is not necessarily defined by size but also the shape and perkiness that adds a certain swagger to the walk whether in jeans, slacks or a bikini.
Like me, your butt may be 70-80 percent on the way to great but could do with that extra lift to fill out your pants just right.
3 Valentine's Day Looks
Happy Valentine's Day! It's the most romantic weekend of the year and you may want to look your best. Whether you have a hot dinner date with your man or are club hopping with your single ladies, one of these make up options can work for you!
Mandy Cummins, my go-to Bajan make up artist, is at it again with not one but three Valentine's Day video tutorials.
First up is the Classic Valentine daytime look:
BalconyTV: Music With A View
BalconyTV Barbados is on a high. The local franchise for a global web series that focuses the spotlight on indie artists, BalconyTV has also specially featured major names like Foxes, Mumford and Sons and Ed Sheeran. The Barbados channel was started in October, with demo videos shot in early October 2013 and submitted to the global brand for approval.
BalconyTV Barbados was welcomed to the international family with the debut episode released on October 24th, and the rest is history.
Adaeze: The DaeDreamer
Adaeze has an energizing sound that is all the way hype and all the way reflective. She’s an intellect who attended Harrison College, a United World College in Norway and The University of Florida.
Fresh off of an impressive performance at Honey Jazz, her acoustic jam on BalconyTV for the song 'Daedream' put her at one of the highest watched videos in the Barbados series. She is the new generation of musicians whose words are weapons and whose songs will make you stand up and take note.
Sweet & Smooth Honey Jazz
Barbadian lovers of jazz were treated to the smooth, bluesy performances of Honey Jam alums at the Honey Jazz... Ladies Sing the Blues event last Sunday in the Frank Collymore Hall. Kellie Cadogan was the featured artiste and show-stopper of the night, blending subtle Caribbean influences with her original music that was peppered with scat. My personal favourite from Cadogan was a kaiso-jazz song, written by Roger Gittens.
Coolest Caribbean People Of 2013 - Pt 2
Previously, I started my list of the Coolest Caribbean People of last year with Rihanna, Kerry Washington, Tessanne Chin, Joan Smalls and Melodie Monrose. Now we see who else made the cut, in no particular order:
Life With Livvi Franc
Singer/songwriter Livvi Franc is that chick. She has jet setted to the UK and been a top shot in LA - but strip her of the spotlight and you’ll see a Bajan fuh real. Here the Queen’s College alum shares the story behind 'What Now', insights into the best parts of being a Bajan, her favourite Bajanism and the real way to tell which corncurls are the cheesiest.
Coolest Caribbean People Of 2013 - Pt 1
2013 has been a pretty good year for a Caribbean presence in the pop culture scene. As I’ve done in the past, I thought it would be a great way to start the new year by recognizing the coolest Caribbean people of 2013. Whether they were raised in the Caribbean or are a part of the diaspora, these artistes, celebrities and sports stars have done their countries proud or have been truly intriguing on a global scale.
Here's the first half of the list in no particular order:
