Fun Ways To Celebrate Valentine's Day (For Single Ladies)

Monday is Valentine ’s Day, the day touted for love and romance. Single folk often feel left out or lonely. However, some of us are comfortable and happy to be single on the most romantic day of the year.

Whether or not you are happy to be single, here are some fun, cheap ways you can celebrate Valentine’s Day as a single lady.

Happy and single on valentine's day

  1. Movie night with friends and family – This is a great day to celebrate the love you do have in your life with those you cherish. Watch your favourite movies or just keep it quiet with a nice dinner and chat with loved ones. Either way you are sure to enjoy the time with your family and friends.

  2. Take yourself out on a date – Go on a picnic, to a restaurant or to the cinema. Show yourself some love.

  3. Take a fitness class – Go to the gym or a kickboxing class, go for a run; something to get those endorphins flowing. You will feel good and have fun doing something that is great for your health and confidence.

  4. Cook for yourself at home – Make your favourite meal, watch a good movie and enjoy the time alone by yourself.

  5. Go for a walk or swim by the beach – Here in the Caribbean we have lovely beaches that are fun and relaxing. Watching a sunset, going for a walk or even a swim can lift spirits on Valentine’s Day.

  6. Go dancing – I love to dance. Whenever I feel down, a good dance session pumps me right up. Whether you go to a club or dance at home, choose this fun activity to spend your Valentine’s evening alone or with friends.

  7. Pamper yourself – Put some healing salts and herbs in your bath water, candles around the bath tub and some soothing music and just let yourself relax totally in the bath. You could even make yourself an at home spa and give yourself a manicure, a pedicure and a facial.

  8. Spend the evening with children – Children are fun and interesting (especially if you like them) and are sure to help you show love on Valentine’s Day. They are a great distraction if you’re feeling lonely.

  9. Indulge in your hobbies – Read, play online or offline games, play volleyball or football; whatever it is, spend time doing the things that you find enjoyable with your friends.

  10. Spend the day as you would any other day – You may be just like me. I am going to go to work, go to my school’s sports day and have fun along the way. Basically, I will be doing what I would have done even if it was not Valentine’s Day.
