You Need A Positive Attitude To Succeed

Have you ever heard this statement, “John was born with a gold spoon in his mouth”. This seems to imply that John and others like him are destined for success while many are not. By this estimation, one would be excused for believing that there is nothing you can do to create your own success.

However, a positive attitude goes farther towards ensuring meaningful, long-lasting success than any outer force. The motivation and focus garnered through a positive attitude stands you in good stead to pursue your dreams.

Positive attitudes go a long way.

Here are a few reasons for the strong correlation between a positive attitude and success:

  1. A positive attitude breeds motivation. You rely less on others for your inspiration.

  2. You are more optimistic which leads to a more proactive approach to your dreams.

  3. A positive attitude helps you to be more enterprising and open to the opportunities that come your way.

  4. The road to your dreams is easier because even the difficult times you see as a developmental process to ready you for success.

  5. A positive attitude reflects in your treatment of others and this encourages their support and help of your endeavours.

This line of reasoning shows that a positive attitude leads to positive action which will then garner positive results. It is not self-delusional or a waste of time as long as you take the steps your positive attitude inspires.

Even if you don’t have a positive attitude, you can develop one and make your road to success more rewarding.

  1. Control your thoughts and prevent yourself from dwelling on negative thoughts. They will come into your mind, however, you will take the time to affirm yourself in your thoughts. This is not useless folly as others would have you believe. However, you get from this world what you put in and if you put in negative you will reap negative.

  2. Stick notes in your books or instrumental places you will see when pursuing your dreams, e.g. “I can do it”, “I can be successful “, “I am in control of my life”.

  3. Find a mentor or someone successful in the area that you want to be successful and trace their steps to determine your most probable path to success in your field. Also, creating a network of persons with similar interests to yours will make it easier to garner support when you need it.

  4. Look for the good in people and situations. Always look for what you can learn from being in a particular situation or others and use that lesson to grow more towards your goals.

  5. Surround yourself with positive people. I did not say YES people; I said positive people. They will tell you the truth even if it hurts temporarily, but they will provide the support and advice needed to move forward towards your success.

No one can instil a positive mind in you. Developing a positive attitude requires your effort and dedication. It may be a long process but when you have achieved your success you will be thankful you made the effort.

Optimism blinding?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think we have to escape reality to be optimistic. If anything, it helps us to open our eyes to the possibilities as opposed to scepticism that can be really blinding - not allowing us to look at our blessings and our potential.

My bestfriend implanted to me

My bestfriend implanted to me the idea that in order to lead I need to be optimistic in all things. However, sometimes we can never deny the fact that this idea makes us escape the reality in some sense. Eventhough this is the case nothing can stop the NYC marathon. I didn't know that many people actually wanted in on the NYC Marathon that they actually needed an NYC marathon lottery. Well…I guess a New York City Marathon is just a little bit more high profile than the Pig's Knuckle Arkansas marathon, so maybe it is worth blowing a payday cash advances worth to fly out and run within the race. I seem to remember seeing many celebrities making a big deal about sprinting it. It just seems like the idea of getting fortunate to have to run for 26 miles seems slightly ironic.
